Squirrel's Pantry collected £53 in the collection box from November - January 2008 for use in grey squirrel control
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue saves red squirrels
Two volunteers erect red squirrel nesting boxes after a generous donation made to "Allerdale Red Squirrel" group
Chris Abbot and Derek Tunstall get the box ready to go up the tree.
The boxes will be used by local RED squirrels for shelter and breeding, and will be monitored by volunteers for Allerdale Red Squirrels. Many thanks to the Cockermouth Mountain Rescue team for their help.

The spread of grey squirrels is threatening our native red squirrel.
They carry the parapox virus to which they are immune, but will kill our native red in days
